Immediate Supervisor: Principal Job Qualifications: Provisional or standard teaching certificate for appropriate education grade/subject area Specific Duties: 1. Works with classroom students in an effort to meet the specific goals stated in the educational program. This includes work in all of the following areas: ? Fine motor activities ? Gross motor activities ? Language Development ? Self-help and adaptive behavior ? Cognitive development ? Behavior and Social Skills 2. Maintains accurate reports and student records electronically via student tracking system and hard copy student folders. 3. Establishes and maintains good rapport with the parents and students. 4. Works and counsels with parents when requested. 5. Supervises aides, tutors, and volunteers when assigned to the classroom. 6. Follows policies and procedures as set forth by the school system. 7. Maintains self-improvement in increasing knowledge and skills in working with children with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. 8. Follows state and federal laws, regulations, and administrative statutes including KDE guidance documents. 9. Collaborate with regular education teacher and co-teach when appropriate, to meet the educational needs of students. 10. Maintains and submits accurate service logs for billable School Based Health Services provided for Medicaid eligible students. 11. Complete necessary training for restraint and seclusion if assigned by the Director of Special Education. 12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent |
