Child Care Instructor Qualifications for Lyon Cubs Day Care Credentials

Must Have all the following credentials below:

 

   *At least 18 years of age

   *TB Skin Test or Health Professionsl Statement free from TB

 

Immediate Supervisor: Daycare Director/Superintendent

Job Qualifications: HS Diploma / GED
Specific Duties:
1. Plan, teach and implement the curriculum for three and four years old preschool age
children by utilizing the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards as guidelines for instruction.
2. Gear instruction to the individual needs and developmental levels of each child including
those who are gifted, have special needs and cultural diversity.
3. Complete First Aid and CPR certification.
4. Interact with children both physically and verbally throughout the school day.
5. Assist children with their personal hygiene and provide diverse basic care needs.
6. Follow the Kentucky Day Care Health and Safety standards for practicing developmentally
appropriate self-help procedures in respect to clothing, toileting, hand washing and eating.
7. Assist children with meals and snacks provided by and in the cafeteria.
8. Attend in-service and staff development training programs as required by the Kentucky
Administrative Regulations for Kentucky Child Day Care, Kentucky Child Day Care Health
and Safety Standards and local district guidelines.
9. Require students to maintain a standard of classroom behavior.
10. Maintain student health records and medical condition flags in Infinite Campus.
11. Responsible for fulfilling the instructional job requirements as stated in Kentucky
Administrative Regulations for Kentucky Child Care, Child Day Care Health and Safety
Standards and Kentucky law.
12. Meet and instruct assigned classes at the time designated
13. Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their
parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned
students.
14. Perform home visits and parent-teacher conferences as recommended by the Kentucky
Administrative Regulations for Kentucky Day Care.
15. Distribute a monthly and program calendar to parents.
16. Work with appropriate agencies in developing specialized planning for children/families as
needed.
17. Establish daily and weekly goals, which will promote individual and group educational
plans for all children.
18. Prepare classroom materials to support lesson plans; also change and create learning
centers as needed.
19. Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds during the workday.
20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Day Care Director or Superintendent
